Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This policy covers the website engram.im. The engram tool is separate: it runs entirely on your own machine, reads and writes files under ~/.claude/, and syncs only over a git remote you control. It has no servers and sends none of your memories to us. This page is about the marketing site only.
What we collect
The site has no accounts, no sign-up, and no forms, so we don't ask you for any personal information. What is collected:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics (always on, no cookies): our host counts page views at its edge and records the page path, the referring site, your country, and your browser, device type and operating system. Cloudflare states it sets no cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors by IP address or user agent. The script is Cloudflare's, added to every page, and we see aggregate counts only.
- Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies): pages you view, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, and the site that referred you. This is used solely to understand how the site is used.
- Standard server logs: our host (Cloudflare) may keep basic request logs (IP address, timestamp, user-agent) for security and operations, as most web servers do.
Cookies & consent
Analytics cookies are off by default. Google Analytics is not loaded and sets no cookies until you click Accept in the cookie banner. If you click Decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set. The Cloudflare page-view count sits outside the banner: it sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) to distinguish visitors. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies and local storage in your browser, and you'll be asked again on your next visit.
Legal basis
For visitors in the EU/UK, our legal basis for Google Analytics is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy/PECR cookie rules). Consent is optional and can be withdrawn as described above. For the cookieless page-view count it is our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in knowing whether the site is used, with nothing stored on your device.
Third parties
- Google processes the analytics data. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and processes the page-view count. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it beyond these processors.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to opt out. The site collects only anonymous-ish analytics and no account data: declining or clearing cookies stops Google Analytics, and the page-view count is aggregate, so there is no per-visitor record in it to access or delete. For any request, contact us below.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes; the "last updated" date above will reflect any revision.
